Emily Little SSA, VAS [more info]
| Born in Paraparaumu, New Zealand, Emily Little emigrated to England where she grew up in various parts of the UK. While taking sculpture as a second subject, she graduated with a B.A. Hons degree in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. She later moved to Rome, Italy. She presently lives and works between Edinburgh and Rome. She began painting in oils, acrylics and watercolours and frequently sketched the Pennine landscape while living in West Yorkshire in her early teens. Contemporary to this period she was introduced to the world of the studio potter, which influenced and stimulated her ideas of form. Her residence in Italy furthered the development of her work. After winning a place on a unique and highly selective course (12 participants per year), she spent a three-year period at the Italian Mint in Rome where she learnt the traditional art of designing coins and medals, bas-relief, wax modelling, metal engraving, mould-making and casting as well as taking part in internal commissions for the Italian Head of State (Quirinale) , the Vatican and the Italian Military police. Since then, she has attended further courses on mould-making and casting at Central Snt Martins, London as well as a private, individual course on the creation of watermarks (wax modelling) in Fabriano, Italy. | ||||||||||||||||

fabrizio lorenzani Fabrizio Lorenzani [more info]
| Fabrizio Lorenzani is born in Carrara, since he was very young he starts a rigorous professional training in the artisan laboratories and the art schools of his town. After the graduation in the marble school, and “Liceo Artistico” he enters in the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara where he experiences the techniques and working process of varies materials. In 1989 he opens his personal atelier and starts to go deeply into his own artistic way where from the beginning there is a strong central research which is able to rather emphasize the inner structure of marble than his external shape,, In a very first step in which his works with still some figurative recalls, based on the resolution and re composition of forms, are replaced by a new conception, which sees sculpture like a real “construction” with a strong architectonical value. These also are the years in which Lorenzani starts his teaching at the Marble school of Carrara and working with various world wide known artists like Vercolier, Ferenbach, Kuetani, Kafri, Angel Camino, ect. After the participation of various sculpture symposiums he starts a tour of exhibitions showing his works in Lussembourg, France, Spain, Germany. His art works are collocated in various public spaces and commissioned by private institutes: a huge wall decoration in ceramics a Cinisello Balsamo (Mailand), different works for European Institute of Design Foundation (Cagliari), a big sculpture in Ferrari vineyard estate (Podernuovo,Terriciola, PI) are going side by side with public works in the Public Squares of various Italian and German cities, such as Pisa, Carrara, Teulada, Cavaion Veronese, Nanto, Fanano, Condrieu, Velpke e Schondorf. The research of balance, the attempt to render “light” a naturally heavy material such as stone are the characteristics of a kind of sculpture in which a base of spirituality tries to liberate itself from the material. Clearness, proportion and harmony of lines emerge from essential architectures constructed with the attempt to describe the intimate structure of reality | ||||||||||||||||
